José was a ball of energy, always running around and smiling and celebrating emphatically. He was a greatly respectful man, with Mets manager Terry Collins commending him for his treatment of staff and other players. He was a well loved player by almost everyone that met him, and respected by many.

Class of 2018 Student Commits to Towson University in Sophomore Year
Jess DaBreo took just over a month to make the decision to commit. She is chasing after her D1 dream and making it a reality. Many may believe it is too early to make such a life long decision, but Jess knows what she wants and is going to chase it.
Finishing Strong: CHS Track
From March to May, the high school outdoor track team has been working hard, practicing rain or shine, and excelling in meets. With the new outdoor track finally completed, the team has been able to host home meets for the first time in years, and they have not let down the school. For the past few months, the team has been running against other elite teams, and excelling in their competitions. The girl’s team is currently ranked third in their division, with seven wins and only two losses. The boy’s team is fifth, with five wins and four losses.
Rough Start for Spring Sports?
The outlook is positive for the upcoming season of Coventry High School’s very own softball and baseball teams.
CHS is Back on Track
Having the new track finally completed will make this track season better for everyone in Coventry High School. The track team has a new track to run on, which makes everyone involved happy and excited about hosting meets and invitationals.
Baseball Hall of Fame Inductees
Recently, the voters of the Baseball Writers Association of America submitted their polls, and four players watched themselves become legends. Former Arizona Diamondbacks fireballer Randy Johnson, Red Sox Ace Pedro Martinez, Braves Starter/Closer John Smoltz, and Astros versatility man Craig Biggio, all were inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
CHS Thanksgiving Pep Rally a NO-GO This Year
The main reason for the lack of Pep-Rally seemed to be time, or lack there of. One of the first points Mr. Hobin made clear was that the Pep-Rally wasn’t “cancelled” due to the behavior of the students or any similar reason; instead it was just never planned.

Is There Equity in the CHS Sports Program for Girls AND Boys? By Audrey Buffi
If there is no equivalent girls’ team, a girl may join the boys’ team in a sport. Football, for example, is a co-ed sport at the high school, although Hobin said it’s uncommon for a girl to join the football team.
