Spring Fling: 2015 Freshman/Sophomore Semi-Formal
On Friday, May 15, CHS's ninth and tenth grade students attended the annual Freshmen and Sophomore Semi-Formal Dance.
Get Ready for a Great Summer at the Movies
This summer promises some long awaited movies premiering during the months of May-July. Here's just a few to get you interested:
Finishing Strong: CHS Track
From March to May, the high school outdoor track team has been working hard, practicing rain or shine, and excelling in meets. With the new outdoor track finally completed, the team has been able to host home meets for the first time in years, and they have not let down the school. For the past few months, the team has been running against other elite teams, and excelling in their competitions. The girl’s team is currently ranked third in their division, with seven wins and only two losses. The boy’s team is fifth, with five wins and four losses.
Summer Movie Preview: Insidious Chapter 3
On June 5th, get ready for a terrifying journey as Elise Rainier agrees to help a teenage girl being targeted by dark, evil, manipulating, dead essences that will in the end attempt to try to live once more.
Summer Reading on the Beach
Give new books a chance and they just may surprise you! You may help a witch hunter break a curse or follow along as best friends reunite. You may find a romance or a horror awaiting you. You may even enjoy a summer book that takes place on a beach. When you open up these books anything is possible.
Kaicie’s Picks for Summer Reading
For fans of sharks, history and even the great classic movie Jaws, Close to Shore is an historical book about the terrifying shark attacks that had hearts pounding in the summer of 1916. The book brilliantly re-creates the summer of 1916 with pictures and historical details that will either have you scared of the water or wanting to go explore every beach you go to this summer.

The Benefits of Volunteering: My Experience at a Pet Refuge
I was able to connect with many cats at the shelter while I was there, and it made me so happy. Other people could have the same experience I did, maybe even better, if they gave some of their time to the cause. There may be a lot of work that comes with it, but trust me it will be worth it. Nothing amounts to the feeling you get when you are doing something good for others.
