Spirit Week, starting on Monday, March 4th, is right around the corner. It's one of the most fun weeks of the school year, with the whole school coming together to dress up for each theme, and compete in competitions after school. In addition to the competitions and dressing up, the food drive and Penny Wars are other ways to win points for your grade.

In addition to the competitions and dressing up, the food drive and Penny Wars are other ways to win points for your grade. The big finale is Anything Goes, on Friday, March 8th, and it’s a really fun event to be in, or go to with friends and watch different grades compete against each other in all the games.

- Thursday 3/7/24: West Coast vs. Wild West- Class Feud (2pm, Auditorium)
- Friday 3/8/24: Color Wars: Anything Goes (5$, Gym, Starts at 6pm)
My favorite thing about Spirit Week is dressing up for the themes, especially the new ones each year. For anyone that may need inspiration or some ideas for their own outfits, I came up with a few for each theme.
For Soccer Moms vs. BBQ Dads, it’s pretty self explanatory. To dress like a soccer mom all you need is a soccer themed shirt, or one of those 3 quarter zip shirts, leggings, sneakers, sunglasses, maybe a hat, and if you really want to go all the way, one of those camping chairs. A big water bottle also fits the theme, and a soccer ball, if you’re willing to bring that into school for the day. For BBQ Dad, any shirt tucked in, a belt, some kind of hat (baseball hat or the bucket hat with the strings), and an apron would work. Sadly you can’t bring in a grill, although that would really complete the look!
There’s two different ways you could go for the West Coast theme- the surf beachy type look or rich and bougie. You could also dress up like someone from Hollywood, but that kind of falls into the rich/bougie category. For the surf look, sunglasses and a beachy hat (baseball cap, bucket hat, etc.) are the essentials. Shirts mentioning California, the beach, surfing, or even just a flowery Hawaiian shirt would work. Beaded jewelry, baggy pants, and sneakers finish off the look.
The bougie look is kind of similar to the country club theme from last year, with some more flair thrown in. A sparkly top, flared jeans or leggings (or really any pants), interesting shoes and big, bold sunglasses could be one way to dress for this theme. Dressing as a movie star or other celebrity could be another; think of your favorite actors, musicians or other famous people. Really any bold outfit would work, so just incorporate bright colors, patterns and prints, or sequins into your outfit and you’re all set!
Spirit Week is a time to have fun with your friends and go all out, so enjoy it! Dress up for the themes, go to the competitions or be in them, literally just have a good time- that’s the whole point.
