Officer Guglielmo Keeping CHS Safe
CHS is excited to welcome our new student resource officer, Officer Guglielmo. He has become very close with many students, especially the underclassmen who were at ASFMS for the last two years, where he worked previously.
Though excited to be here, Officer Guglielmo says that is a challenge transitioning to a high school environment because, in high school, students begin facing “adult issues.”
Spotlight on CHS’s “Lizzie Borden”
“Lizzie Borden took an axe and gave her mother forty whacks and when she saw what she had done she gave her father forty-one!” On November 13th through 15th, the Drama Club at Coventry High presented the play “Lizzie Borden of Fall River” and did a fantastic job.
College Advice from CHS Alumni
The former CHS students were very helpful and gave the juniors some insight into college life, as well as a number of tips that could be used in the college decision making process. When it all comes down to it, CHS students need to know what they are passionate about and what they want out of life.
CHS Thanksgiving Pep Rally a NO-GO This Year
The main reason for the lack of Pep-Rally seemed to be time, or lack there of. One of the first points Mr. Hobin made clear was that the Pep-Rally wasn’t “cancelled” due to the behavior of the students or any similar reason; instead it was just never planned.
Nightcrawler Film is a Thriller and a Social Commentary
Nightcrawler, a recent film starring Jake Gyllenhaal, is an adrenaline-fueled thriller that takes the viewer into the world of L.A. crime scenes.
All-State CHS Chorus Students Accepted into RIMEA
On Saturday, November 22, thirteen students from CHS were accepted into the Rhode Island Music Education Association for All-State Chorus.
MLB Goes International
This year, the MLB brought a roster of 29 players overseas to play in the Japan series, something they last did in 2006. The Japan series is where the MLB brings over a roster of the best that would like to participate to Japan to take on the best teams Japan has to offer.
This team included stars like Jose Altuve, Yasiel Puig, and Robinson Cano. This team also brought over a few players that have most recently played in the World Series a few weeks ago like Salvador Perez, Alcides Escobar, and Jeremy Guthrie. They traveled to play in Osaka, Tokyo, Sapporo, and Okinawa.

The Most Stressful Time of the Year?
We all know that the holidays can be stressful and Mr. Ruffolo and I are here to help! Between school pressures, shopping for presents, and family gatherings, the holidays aren’t always enjoyable. He and I have put together some reasons that kids and families tend to get so stressed and some tips on how to handle the craziness.
