A Night to Remember for Freshmen and Sophomore Students
On Friday, May 15, CHS’s ninth and tenth grade students attended the annual Freshmen and Sophomore Semi-Formal Dance. The dance lasted a total of three hours, beginning at seven o’clock in the evening and ending at ten o’clock.
Several students seized the opportunity to have their pictures taken by Catherine Hellman with either their dates or their friends. In addition to Catherine Hellman’s professional photographs, there was also a table of food including fruit, calzones, party pizza, and desserts.
Matthew Cronin, a sophomore at CHS, was impressed by the “great food.”
Every year, a specific theme is assigned to the dance; this year, the theme was “Spring Fling.” The girls had glamorous, sparkly dresses, and the boys wore nice dress pants and white shirts along with dress shoes.
Thanks to the D.J, students enjoyed dancing on the dance floor to well-known music with flashing, multicolored lights. Phoebe Lefrancios, a sophomore, told The Entry that her favorite part of the dance was the “fantastic D.J.”
Nick Gessner’s favorite part of the dance was “seeing Matt Cronin and a freshman have a dance off.” A vast majority of students stayed until ten o’clock. May 15, 2015 was surely a night to remember and treasure for sophomore and freshmen students.
