Abigail has been studying music for 8 years and even takes private vocal lessons She’s a part of the honors select chorus class here at Coventry High.Which is not all she is involved in. She is involved with many different choral groups in Rhode Island.Including the Junior Providence Singers through the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School and RI-ACDA (Rhode Island Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association) Honor chorus. She will also participate in 3 concerts with The Warwick Symphony Orchestra this December.Talk about a busy schedule.
Abigail is one of 750 talented musicians to get picked out of the 18,000 nominations from around the world. She will be performing with people from all 49 states,Guam, two Canadian provinces, and several foreign countries which in itself is a once in a lifetime experience.Abigail will have the chance to learn from world-renowned conductors and the other finalists. She will come together with these conductors and finalists for five days in New York City in February leading up to their performance.
It is an extremely big achievement just to be able to try out for this choir and when asking Abigail how it feels to be able to perform at Carnegie Hall she stated “I would say this was one of the biggest achievements in my life, being able to sing at Carnegie Hall ”
We are all very proud of Abigail’s extraordinary achievement and wish her all the best of luck in her trip to Carnegie Hall.
