STUDENTS WORK TOGETHER TO BEAUTIFY THE LIBRARY
Mrs. O’Rourke, the CHS librarian, stumbled across the idea while perusing the aisles of her local bookstore. Looking for ways to enhance the appearance of the library, she found a book demonstrating the beauty and versatility of chalkboard art.
She immediately enlisted the help of fellow CHS teachers Jackie Celeste, Maryellen Carlu, and Gene Dufault. The eye-catching panels, which were constructed and designed from October through December of 2015, were a labor of love for students from the art and technology departments.
According to Hadaitullah Amini, a student who worked on the project, “We took the time to get it perfect.”
On January 8th, students and teachers came together to celebrate the official unveiling of the panels. After months of hard work and dedication, students and faculty enjoyed refreshments and camaraderie. The morning ended with a number of students receiving certificates for their specific contributions.
