Music is a huge part of our lives. We listen to it in the car, during our workouts, and even while completing our homework. For teenagers, music is a necessity. Whether it’s Katy Perry or Maroon 5, we have all had those “earworms” (songs that get stuck in our head) that we can’t shake off no matter how hard we try.

Did you know that your heartbeat changes and mimics the music you listen to?
Music is a huge part of our lives. We listen to it in the car, during our workouts, and even while completing our homework. For teenagers, music is a necessity. Whether it’s Katy Perry or Maroon 5, we have all had those “earworms” (songs that get stuck in our head) that we can’t shake off no matter how hard we try.
The year 2014 has had many catchy tunes, but there can only be one official top-selling album. Any guesses? Try “X” by Ed Sheeran. Surprised? The beguiling album has sold more than 634,000 copies and is the fastest selling album of the year. In fact, fans purchased more than 182,000 copies during its first week of sale! Who knew Sheeran had it in him? Following closely behind is the one and only Sam Smith. His album sales have hit 487,000 copies.
80’s Flashback
It’s time to put on your leg warmers and neon clothing. Try not to “have a cow” as we travel back in time. The top selling album with 29 million sales is Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”!
Fun fact: The zombie-themed music video “Thriller” played in a Westwood theater for one week in 1983 and also surprised many theatergoers when it opened for Disney’s Fantasia.
