I’d recommend this movie to anybody who is in the mood for a good laugh and rockin’ guitar solos. It is one hour and forty eight minutes of pure comedy and excellent filmmaking. This gets my rating of a 10 out of 10.

Today, I am going to bring you back to one of the highlights of my film viewing. The School of Rock, which in October celebrated the 11 year anniversary of its release, is a movie that in all the times that I have watched it, has never failed to entertain me and make me laugh. It’s about down on his luck musician Dewey Finn (played by funnyman Jack Black) and his quest to make it big in the music business, while at the same time, trying to pay the rent.
Dewey sees an opportunity to make some money when a prestigious elementary school calls Dewey’s roommate for a substitute job. Dewey claims to be the substitute (identity theft is not cool, kids) and takes the job. He sees the students are incredibly talented musicians and sets out to make them into a successful rock band, just in time for the local battle of the bands.
Everything reaches a halt when it is revealed to the kids that Dewey is not the man he says he was, and he is fired from the job. I won’t say the ending of this movie for the sake of spoilers, but it is very entertaining.
The plot is very well thought out and conveys the lesson that music can be just what helps you to be yourself. This movie has stood the test of time and is still never ceases to amaze today. Jack Black’s signature high energy antics are at their best in this film.
