March Madness is an event in which many sports and non-sports fans participate. Last year, a bunch of friends and I participated in a March Madness Bracket. Shoutout to Ryan Fogell for winning it, and for me coming in second.
For March Madness, all you have to do is pick the teams you think will win each game. You don’t need to know much about college basketball, you just have to get “lucky.” My only suggestions are, don’t pick the higher seeds to win every game, don’t pick a 16, 15, 14, 13, or 12 seed to win many games, and have at least 2 “big” upsets.
March Madness consists of 68 teams, and upsets happen left and right. Last year, a 16 seed beat a 1 seed for the first time. It was UMBC over Virginia, which I predicted to happen. My mom and my sister, who don’t care about sports very much, have completed the bracket for many years. It may be sports related, but it is very fun and entertaining. Here are some notes and tips to help you out.
Overrated teams (in my opinion):
- Tennessee
- Virginia
- Nevada
- Nebraska
- Michigan
Sleeper teams (in my opinion):
- Louisville
- Villanova
- UCF
- Purdue
- Oklahoma
The brackets aren’t out yet, but when they come out, go to https://bracketchallenge.ncaa.com to pick your bracket. It only takes 5 minutes! It’s also more entertaining and interesting when you include friends and family. A couple of years ago, I got over ONE-HUNDRED people to join my group, and it was very fun!
Good luck, and PICK THE WINNERS!
