Ten Things to Do This Summer BY Sarah Lopes
Ten Things to Do This Summer BY Sarah Lopes
We have worked hard this year and are getting ready for some downtime. Here are some great ideas to make the most of our summer days. Check them out!
Sleep
We all know it has been a long year and sleeping was not a part of our curriculum. After all the sleepless nights studying or finishing forgotten homework, we all clearly need to sleep and for as long as possible. So snuggle up and sleep.
Spend time with your friends
To go along with number one, you’ve been cooped up in your room and probably have not seen much of your friends outside of school. So make some plans, go to the mall, or just kick back and relax.Catch up on things you forgot to talk about during school.
Go to the zoo
Bring out your inner child and forget about the seriousness of high school. The zoo is a perfect cheap day to have out of the house. Also going to the zoo is pretty fun.
Have a day at the beach
Everybody knows that Rhode Island is known for our beaches. So why not take advantage of it? Even if you don’t like the water, going to the beach can still be a very fun experience. You can have some fun with friends, get a little tan, show off your new bathing suit and just have a little fun.
Binge watch all the Netflix shows you’ve missed
This is by far my favorite idea! Watching Netflix is a good way to spend a rainy day or a good way to spend a day that’s too hot to handle. Snuggle up and watch some good shows with some good food. Some recommendations are One Tree Hill, 13 Reasons Why, Glee, Jane the Virgin, and The Carrie Diaries.
Get a head start on summer reading
This is a now or never type of thing.Better to start now then procrastinate..It’s not the most fun thing to do for some of us but it will help us in the long run.
Spend a little time outside
Enjoy the weather and beauty of outside. I may sound cliche, but it is always good to take a break. Just enjoy life’s little things, especially the things we took for granted during the school year.
Take a Hike
In Rhode Island there are a lot of trails you can hike. Many trails have beautiful views which will make for some very artsy social media pictures. And it will make up for lost time with the school year.
Try some new foods and or restaurants
Rhode Island has a variety of different foods and there is always somewhere new to go.There are a lot of cool cafes in RI and some very good restaurants. Some good recommendations are T’s, Uncle Tony’s, Iggy’s, Bertucci’s, Marchetti’s, and On the Border.
Have a picnic
Having a picnic is a perfect way to spend a nice breezy day. Fill up your basket with some nice fruits and sandwiches. Also to make it way more fun, bring some games, a book, and good company.
