With Valentine’s Day on Friday, you might be in the mood for a cute romance book. Or maybe with February break, you’ll find some time to read. Regardless of your motivation, curling up and diving into a cozy book is one of the best feelings in the world, and here is a list of books that may help you accomplish this.

Better Than the Movies and Nothing Like the Movies by Lynn Painter

This two part series follows the story of Wes and Liz as they navigate sports, school, injuries, and their feelings for each other. The two books have different storylines, but both contain the same style and feeling. With charming characters, book soundtracks, and whiplash emotions, Better Than the Movies and Nothing Like the Movies are perfect options for a romantic read.

The Summer I Turned Pretty, It’s Not Summer Without You, and We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han

If you have been growing tired of the bitter New England winter, this series will be the perfect escape. Taking place at a summer beach house, these books detail the experiences of Belly, a teenage girl caught in the middle of a love triangle between her family friends, Conrad and Jeremiah. The series follows the three through grief, love, and heartbreak as they all struggle with their complicated feelings about each other. As well as providing a glimpse into summer, reading The Summer I Turned Pretty can also prepare you for the upcoming release of the third and final season of its television show!

The Summer of Broken Rules by K. L. Walther

Another escape into warm weather, The Summer of Broken Rules tells the story of Meredith, a teenage girl who is grieving the loss of her older sister. As she struggles with managing this loss and her relationships with family and friends, she meets a guy who might change her outlook on life.  All of this is happening amidst a giant game of assassin at her grandparents’ beach house on Martha’s Vinyard. This novel will take you away from the cold and snow to the warm and sunny beach.

Reggie and Delilah’s Year of Falling by Elise Bryant

In perfect timing with Valentine’s Day, this book shares the love story of two teenagers, Reggie and Delilah, with chapters about their experiences on various holidays all throughout the year. The plot of the novel shows both characters struggling with their identities and self confidence, which they will learn to develop by themselves and with eachother. Reggie and Delilah’s Year of Falling is a perfect lighthearted book for music and romance lovers.

Betting on You by Lynn Painter

Betting on You flashes through multiple times in the two main characters, Bailey and Charlie’s, lives.

Following the theme of the movie, When Harry Met Sally, the two make a bet saying they can remain friends and nothing more, but will they be proven wrong? Full of playful banter and sarcasm, Betting on You is a hilarious and fun book that you can easily enjoy.

Regardless of what you end up reading, I hope you love it, and have a fantastic break and Valentine’s Day.
