One Last Night For Seniors
Even though that was the last school event for the Class of 2015, let’s not forget the memories we’ve all made together since entering Coventry High School four years ago. Next, let’s walk across that stage before we enter the real world and tackle future obstacles.
One Last Night For Seniors
By Keely DiBiasio
Throughout high school, there’s one night that seniors look forward to the most. It just so happens that Senior Supper was the last opportunity for an event to be just for the Class of 2015. While many of us were looking forward to Senior Prom, that quickly changed once it was combined with juniors. Luckily, our last event together as a class wasn’t spent with juniors and we could enjoy the night as the Class of 2015.
Quidnessett Country Club was the perfect venue with a beautiful view. The first thing we all wanted to do was grab our caps, gowns, and yearbooks. The thought of graduation in less than a month was finally sinking in as we all tried on the caps and gowns that we ordered. Girls wore their white caps and gowns, and the boys wore their red caps and gowns. While we looked at our senior pictures and other pictures in the yearbook, we all came to realization that this is the last time our friends and teachers will be signing our High School yearbooks.
The first event of the night was to use all the items in the center of the table and create the best centerpiece before a winner was crowned. Soon after that, senior superlatives were awarded their certificate and given a special gift to fit what they won. Class President, Kayla Nardolillo called up multiple well known couples, as well as Mr. Lucian and Mr. D’Ambrosio to participate in a munchkin throwing contest. While one person out of the couple threw the munchkin in the air, the other had to catch it in their mouth. The couples narrowed down, leaving Jen Fleming and Kevin Lemos the winner. A lip sync battle started off with three boys and three girls, and ended up being narrowed down between Kylie Pimental and Ethan Lesnett. The event ended without a winner. Spirit week lip sync winner, Alex Harrington danced his way to Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars to win the applause. Grabbing a variety of boys, including Mr. D’Ambrosio and Mr. Lucian, they were asked to dress up and do their best strut down the dance floor. While Mr. Lucian showed off his best moves, it just wasn’t enough. Logan Martin took his celebratory strut when he was crowned. Calling up the top five of the Senior Class, the girls were then asked to try to eat a donut off of a string without using their hands. Eating most of her donut before dropping the rest on the ground, Angela Paoletta devoured the rest from the ground to win that event. A group of boys and a few girls were asked to compete in a whipped cream eating contest out of a pie pan. No questions asked, Nik Silvia was the winner!
Before the night ended, the music came on and the dance floor became available to actually dance on. Though, the area was tight, the balcony area was welcome relief for anyone to cool off, and of course use the view for a great background to pictures. While the school year is coming to an end, Senior Supper was definitely a night to remember. Even though that was the last school event for the Class of 2015, let’s not forget the memories we’ve all made together since entering Coventry High School four years ago. Next, let’s walk across that stage before we enter the real world and tackle future obstacles.
