A brush stroked the blank canvas
The Master’s mind concentrated on His
works

“His Masterpiece”
A brush stroked the blank canvas
The Master’s mind concentrated on His
works
Paintings after paintings
Most took a day yet this one was different
The Creator painted for 9 months
Not because it wasn’t good
Because He made sure every detail was
perfect
He tried out every eye color then landed on a
dark brown
He tried every hairstyle to pick a curly
brunette
He tried every height but 5’2” was just right
He perfected every hair, freckle, birthmark,
and toe
Till 9 months later His Masterpiece came to
life
And He smiled
Love in His eyes and mercy in His bones
He knew His Masterpiece might get a bit
dusty and a little bumped
But nothing could stop Him from loving it
Before putting His Masterpiece in its destiny
He hugged it and said, “Be strong.”
She was His painting and Masterpiece
He would always be there for her
But for now, He picked up a new canvas and made another.
∼Lyla Shillan (Psalm 139:13-14)
