If you're anything like me, you are wondering, what am I going to do after school? What college will I go to, or do I even want to go to college? Well some good news is that college executives have already come to CHS to talk with both juniors and seniors about the college experience.
If you’re anything like me, you are wondering, what am I going to do after school? What college will I go to, or do I even want to go to college? Well some good news is that college executives have already come to CHS to talk with both juniors and seniors about the college experience. We also have some other college awareness opportunities on the way from the college fair to open house.
College representatives have already started coming to CHS on September 12 with St. Anselm College being the first of many college representatives to come to CHS. The visits will always happen during advisory from September 12 to November 25, so you have a lot of time to think about it. All of the college representatives will meet in the Oaker Room, except for CCRI, Rhode Island College, and URI, who will meet in the auditorium. There will be four main time frames where you can see the presentations on the colleges. These time frames are 8:50-9:30, 9:00-9:40, 9:35-10:15, or 8:50-10:15. However you can’t just go down there without a pass. Fill out the form in the Guidance News Class of (Year you Graduate) which will serve as your pass for when and if you do want to go to any of the presentations.
The college presentations are not the only chance you’ll be able to explore different colleges. On September 24 you can go to the college fair at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI from 6:00 p.m.until 8:00 p.m. Additionally, Assuption University will also be doing an open house on October 5 in Worcester MA from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m, with early birds tours beginning at 8:30 a.m.
While juniors and seniors may already have plans for their future, multiple opportunities to either visit or know more about the college they want to attend can only prove useful in the future. That doesn’t mean that freshmen or sophomores can’t think about what their future could look like, so it’s a good idea to at least look into colleges for an idea of what kind of future you’d want to have.
