CHS LAX Is Back!

As winter turns to spring, the Coventry Oakers take to the field for their highly anticipated 2019 LACROSSE season.
On Monday, March 18th, the CHS lacrosse team held their first practice of the season in preparation to take on the crowded Division II. Ever since the start of the LAX program, Coventry has been a competitive powerhouse, characterized by star players and an unbeatable team spirit.
Last year, unfortunately, the Oakers were eliminated from the quarterfinals in a tough loss of 18-10 against Middletown. However, with a fresh season upon them, and many returning players, the team is optimistic about their prospects for the coming weeks.
In an electronic interview, junior defenseman Zachary Barrasso gave a brief, but confident prediction for the year. “Brown bound championship season”, he stated, clearly eager to turn that dream into reality. With that kind of winning attitude, not to mention their skill and dedication, a championship trophy may certainly be in the near future for our boys in Coventry.
The league schedule can be accessed on the Rhode Island Interscholastic League (RIIL) website at https://www.riil.org/page/2926. Come out and support the Oakers!
